It appears they can predict crashes now and react which is pretty impressive, the AI put the brakes on as soon as it knew there was going to be an accident (then the driver braked as well)

I’m thinking it has something to do with the Hyundai that was braking being taller than the Corsa that didn’t brake, and that one of the cameras or radars of the Tesla was thus able too look over the Corsa.
It however does show how quick the reaction of AI is compared to a human drive.

If I’m honest I didn’t see the brake lights on the Hyundai till you pointed it out, now I can clearly see the through the Corsa’s window so guessing the AI saw it too and guessed as the Corsa wasn’t breaking that there was going to be an accident

It’s because the radar is now bouncing off the floor to see cars ahead of the car in front.

So if the car in front of the Corsa was something smaller like a Miata would the Tesla still detect it? If so that is some impressive stuff.

Yeah it’s detecting the mass slowing down not necessarily seeing if the brake lights are on. Remember the system has to work if the car ahead has no brake lights at all.
